The Nashville CoderDojo is a volunteer-led community group dedicated to providing free programming education to young people. Through regular meetups and special events like Summer Camp, CoderDojo aims to inspire the next generation of coders and tech innovators.

At Nashville CoderDojo, we empower the next generation of tech innovators by providing free, accessible coding education to young people aged 7-17. Our volunteer-led organization offers a variety of hands-on workshops, coding sessions, and special events designed to ignite curiosity and foster creativity. Through engaging projects in programming, robotics, and more, we create a supportive and collaborative learning environment where kids can explore their passion for technology, develop critical STEM skills, and build confidence. Yes. It is completely free.
A desire to learn and participate with the club. Computers are provided, but bring a laptop if you like. Preferably with someone available who has admin rights in case something needs to be installed for a certain project. That can be the Ninja or their Guardian.
If your child is over age 12, then they may attend camp, afterschool sessions, or Saturday builds without you. If they are 12 or younger, they will need a responsible adult assigned to look after them. No more than 5 children per adult, please. Our volunteers are there to help mentor technology projects.
CoderDojos are run by amazing, supportive volunteers who give their time to support kids and teens. Safety is of utmost concern in the Nashville CoderDojo. All volunteers, whether WNCP staff, community volunteers, or older student mentors must pass a background check and complete safeguarding training. Our core volunteers teach professionally and come with decades of industry technology experience.
Food is served at most events. Please let us know when you register if there are any special dietary concerns or allergies.
Yes. ALL participants of Nashville CoderDojo must register for every event so that:
Nashville CoderDojo is funded through donations from individuals, other non-profits, corporations, and grants from foundations. Facilities are provided for community use by the West Nashville Church. Please contact us if you are interested in supporting our mission.
Our club meets during the school year after school on Wednesdays from 4 to 6. There are quarterly Saturday builds from 10 to 12. And we have a summer camp the last week of June.
